Sharing Memories Through Children's Fun
At a soccer clinic held at Ishinomaki Inai Kindergarten, the parents of Taylor Anderson were also in attendance.Taylor Anderson was an English teacher who lost her life in the March 11 disaster, and her parents later established the Taylor Bunko Library in her memory.
During the event, players from the local soccer club Cobaltore Onagawa taught the kindergarten children the basics of soccer. The children practiced using uniforms and soccer balls donated by the Taylor Anderson Memorial Fund.

The Andersons also donated a new picture book and read it aloud to the children. To conclude the visit, everyone enjoyed dancing together to piano music recorded by Taylor herself, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
This was the couple’s third visit to the kindergarten. Mrs. Anderson expressed how happy she was to revisit Ishinomaki and Inai—places of beautiful scenery—and to share memories of Taylor through their time with the children.
The same report also notes that Juan Manuel Japón, Vice President of the Japón–Hasekura Association, visited Japan as part of the Tohoku Crossing Project, traveling through the prefectures of Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate. In Ishinomaki, he appeared at the 8th 9.11 Memorial Circle Wind Concert, where he also met Taylor Anderson’s parents.
