Premiere of "Journey of Origami Cranes," a mixed choir composition by Mr. Kazutaka Sumiyama, performed by Japan Choral Harmony "TOMO"
Part Two: 100 Ways of Thanks
Energetic performance of selected songs from the original musical "100 Ways of Thanks"
Performance by the newly formed "Zettai Magenee Chorus" in tribute to Taylor Anderson, an English teacher who lost her life in the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami
Special Guests: Hapon Hasekura Association
Ten members from the Hapon Hasekura Association in Spain will join the event
Descendants of the Keicho envoy, believed to have departed from the shores of Kesennuma in the "San Juan Bautista," consider Kesennuma as their hometown and participated in post-disaster support activities
Special Performance: Manhattan Symphony Orchestra
Conductor Gregory Singer leads the Manhattan Symphony Orchestra in Part One
Special Performance: Masayo Ishigure
Koto player Masayo, based in New York, will perform alongside the orchestra for the second consecutive year
Haiku Presentation:
Haikus commemorating Taylor Anderson and her students will be recited during the concert
This special memorial concert brings together individuals from distant places to honor the departed and share hopes for recovery.
