J Orchestra & TOMO Choir Unite at Carnegie Hall

Supporting J Orchestra’s Carnegie Hall Concert

J Orchestra. From the Balcony

On July 18th, 2025, J Orchestra, a symphony composed entirely of medical professionals, held its first international performance at Carnegie Hall. Welcomed by an audience of 2,751 people, the program included Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, "From the New World," Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5, "Emperor," and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance. Additionally, a 60-member chorus of local, Japanese residents joined as guest performers, singing Sibelius’s Finlandia in its original lyric.

The chorus was organized around Japan Choral Harmony “TOMO,” bringing together Japanese chorists and volunteers from the greater New York area.

While NPO Circle Wind was not listed as an official co-organizer, in a collaboration nearly two years in the making with the CEO of J Orchestra, were made behind the scenes to help build connections and offer practical assistance, advice, and counsel towards the success of this remarkable concert.
